On top of that GitLab provide extra services like issue-tracking, wiki and CI/CD pipelines for code deployment. The main difference between GitLab and GitHub is that GitLab is open-source and the whole platform can be self-hosted on your own server. GitLab also provides the same hosted repository solutions provided by GitHub.
