The creator or Collapse OS predicts a global supply chain collapse before the year 2030 and is building the operating system to counter such an event. Collapse OS is designed to run on minimal and improvised machines, interface through improvised means (serial, keyboard, display), edit text and binary contents, compile assembler source for a wide range of MCUs and CPUs, read and write from a wide range of storage devices and assemble itself and deploy to another machine. The goal of the project is to be as self-contained operating system that can be built without external resources like internet, on a machine of personal design, built from scavenged parts with low-tech tools.

Taskwarrior Taskwarrior

Taskwarrior is an open-source, cross platform time and task management tool that can be used to effectivly keep track on progress and handle collaborative tasks. Taskwarrior's provides a graphical user interface as well as a command line tool allowing you to get things done and track progress from your terminal. Taskwarrior is powered by the Taskserver, an free and open-source server that can be installed on your cloud infrastructure or on-premise.

Guix is an advanced distribution of the GNU operating system. The operating system is released under the GNU General Public License is 100% free to use and distribute. Guix supports transactional upgrades and roll-backs and unprivileged package management. At the core of Guix is an hackable system that provides Guile Scheme APIs that includes high-level embedded domain-specific languages to define packages and whole-system configurations.

Matrix.org is an open network for secure, decentralized communication. It gives you a simple HTTP APIs and SDKs (iOS, Android, Web) to create chatrooms, direct chats and chat bots, complete with end-to-end encryption, file transfer, synchronised conversation history, formatted messages, read receipts and more. All conversations on Matrix are replicated over all the servers participating in them, meaning there are no single point of control or failure.

Rocket.Chat have set out to be a replacement for email, HipChat & Slack and is provided as Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) or a self-hosted community edition. Rocket.Chat is feature packed and can be used for video conferencing, file sharing, voice messages and more. The software integrates with third-party services like GitHub, GitLab, JIRA, and Confluence and provides an API that can be used for authentication and integration across these services.
